Nursing education in Karnataka; Banks should temporarily stop the distribution of education loans.

Illegal education in PBBSC and MSC nursing courses. 477 nursing colleges and 800 nursing schools. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is likely to impose worldwide ban on nurses produced from various nursing institutions in Karnataka. Loan repayment will be in crisis. The money that the public deposits in the bank is not meant to inflate the pockets of the Karnataka nursing Mafia.Money needs a guarantee.

Prominent RTI activist Shri.M K Thomas has written a letter to the Reserve Bank of India and Indian Bank Association asking them to suspend the education loan scheme provided by banks for higher studies for nursing in the state of Karnataka. The letter also demanded that action should be taken to repay the loans as soon as possible.

477 nursing colleges and 800 nursing schools. Many functions  only on papers. Many of them don’t have required buildings and other infrastructure. There will be hundreds of institutions that operate without qualified teachers or the necessary clinical facilities. In addition, illegal studies in PBBSC,MSC nursing courses have continued for years. Every year tens of thousands of unqualified nurses are produced from these notorious nursing institutes in Karnataka. These unqualified nurses work in many countries around the world and endanger the health care sector of the world. If this continues, the world will have to witness another epidemic at a time when the spread of COVID-19 epidemic is declining around the world.

Mr.M K Thomas has lodged a complaint with the World Health Organisation (WHO) seeking a permanent solution to these facts, citing the necessary evidence. The World Health Organisation(WHO) which received the complaint has expressed concern over the massive big scams and likely to initiate actions against this issue.

Experts in the field point out that the first step would be to ban nurses from Karnataka worldwide based on indications. Thus, in the coming days, there will be no opportunities for the nurses who leave Karnataka after completing their studies. This will affect the nurses who have completed their studies and come out with all the qualifications from the few reputed nursing institutes operating in Karnataka with all the facilities and without any cheating.

In this situation, there will be no job opportunities for nurses leaving Karnataka after completing their nursing studies.   Then the repayment will be a problem for the students who take the education loan. Banks are unjustifiably pushing these students into another liability by giving them education loans to pursue nursing studies at these notorious nursing institutions in Karnataka. Banks don’t write off these loans as indebted one. Therefore, it is not appropriate to sanction education loans for perusing nursing studies in Karnataka. Moreover, these loans are money that ordinary people deposit in various banks. Who will answer for this money?

Mr.M K Thomas wrote a letter to the Reserve Bank of India and the Indian Bank Association pointing out these objects.  Mr.Thomas’s office clarified that he sought an appointment to meet Mr.M.K Goyal, Chairman, Indian Bank Association ,to explain the details in person.

Mr.M.K Thomas informed that the list of substandard nursing institutes in Karnataka where there is no possibility of getting education loan will be released soon and a copy of the same will be given directly to the chairman of Indian Bank Association.
