Precious nursing courses meant for saving human life are now conducting through correspondence at Aruna & Ashwini College of Nursing, Tumkur. A very well-known person Dr. Raghavendra, as director and his wife Mrs. Sujatha Raghavendra as secretary is behind this atrocity and violation of the existing law of the land. Evidences related this sensational issue obtained by Mr. M.K.Thomas and his team reveals that many students who took admission for studying Post Basic BSc nursing (PB BSC (N)) and MSc nursing courses were employees of other hospitals while they were undergoing these full time courses at this nursing institution. How this happening? The answer is simple. This is only happen with the silent support of officials of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore and other apex bodies. After completing the admission procedures, nursing college authorities allow the students to go and work at different hospitals either in India or abroad.
Mr. Thomas argued that it is mandated by Indian Nursing Council and RGUHS that those takers of this Post Basic BSc (PB BSc (N)) nurse and MSc nursing courses should attend 1600 hours and 2300 hours of practical clinical practices. Those who failing to comply with this, are not eligible for serving in the health care sector. But contrary to all the existing rules and regulations of this course, various evidences obtained by our correspondents reveal the shocking story.
He suspected that these two nursing colleges are functioning in one building and all the minimum facilities required to conduct nursing colleges are not fulfilled here. A similar story of illegalities and irregularities of these nursing colleges already exists in the history. In the year 2005-2006 The Task force, Dr. Gurumurthy Commission appointed by the then Governor of Karnataka disaffiliated this nursing college because of inadequate building & classrooms, inadequate library, laboratory, inadequate clinical facilities, non-experienced Principal and inadequate tutors. This same situation prevails today.
All the authorities of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore such as Vice – Chancellor Dr. S Sacchidanand and registrar Shri. Shivanand Kapashi IAS etc are always there to support all the illegal activities carrying out by the managements of Aruna and Ashwini College of Nursing, Tumkur. Otherwise these illegal activities never took place. Hundreds of unqualified nurses are produced from these nursing institutions every year. These unqualified nurses are working some hospitals and treating the poor patients. This is a very dangerous situation. The root cause of these dangerous situation is created by the managements. Thus the integrity and sovereignty of our nation will be in danger. So to protect the sanctity of nursing profession these evil elements should be eradicated from the society. So as a part of this move, Mr. Thomas, the activist said that all the evidences he collected with regard to illegal and irregular activities ongoing at these nursing institutions will be submitted before the Honb’le High Court of Karnataka and will demand an impartial investigation. Already there is a Public Interest Litigation pending before the court, in which MR. Thomas is a complainant. He said if a genuine investigation is conducted, it is sure that all the affiliation and recognition granted to these two nursing institutions by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka State Nursing Council will get cancelled. So Mr. Thomas, All India president , WAPSI warned all the student community of India and their parents to take necessary precautions before opting these two nursing colleges for nursing education.
